Barbara
J. Basney Vice President of

Barbara J. Basney is vice president of global advertising for Xerox Corporation, Norwalk, Conn.
She is currently responsible for Xerox
brand and product advertising, including traditional television, print, radio and outdoor, as well as digital media.
Her responsibilities include the formulation of advertising strategies, campaign development and implementation,
media mix optimization and campaign results tracking in more than 35 countries.
Basney joined Xerox in 2000 as a director of marketing communications
for the Office Printing Division located in Portland, Ore. Prior to joining Xerox, she spent more than 15 years in marketing
and advertising for both B-to-B and B-to-C Fortune 100 corporations including Rite-Aid, Tektronix and Convergys. Basney
has managed functions including advertising, public relations, corporate communications, direct marketing, tradeshows, customer
communications and marketing strategy.
Basney is active in the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), a member of the National Advertising
Review Board, and serves on the ANA Corporate Communications and Television Advertising committees, as well as being a member
of the Advertising Women of New York.
Basney,
a Cherry Hill, N.J. native, grew up in Germany. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from
the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. and a master’s degree in business administration from Portland
State University in Portland, Ore. She currently resides in Stamford, Conn.
Stuart Burkhoff, Vice President
of Media and Sponsorships, Ameriprise Financial
Stuart Burkhoff is vice president
of media and sponsorships for Ameriprise Financial. He joined the company in 2005.
Stuart directs programs on a national and local
level, supporting the company’s network of more than 10,000 financial advisors.
Prior to joining Ameriprise Financial, Stuart
was a brand manager at Unilever.
Before Unilever, Burkhoff was the vice president and managing director of media services at Stein Rogan and Partners
.
From
1993 to 2000, Stuart was at J. Walter Thompson where he worked with clients including Kodak, Pfizer, and Unilever.
Stuart earned his undergraduate
degree from Binghamton University and received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Leonard N. Stern School
of Business at New York University. In addition, he holds a Series 7 registration.
Stuart lives in Long Island, New York
with his wife and daughter.
Julie T. Chan, Director,
International Media, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare
A leader in the Communications industry throughout her 20+ year career, Julie T. Chan joined
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare as Director, International Media (May, 2010) and is responsible for increasing
Media effectiveness through innovation. Julie is as an Integrated Communications and Digital visionary
with expansive World-Wide communications experience and travel throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Prior to joining Pfizer Consumer Healthcare,
Julie spent 13 years at Johnson & Johnson where she led a team of media professionals responsible for integrated communications,
agency oversight and digital marketing for J&J’s Consumer and Pharmaceutical Companies. Julie has an expertise
in Emerging Markets such as China and Brazil and led the Communications for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics as part
of J&J’s sponsorship. Julie led the production of the successful China Media Summit:
fast forward, Connecting in the Digital Age resulting in increased Digital advertising and website
production. She also directed the JOHNSON’S Baby and Clean and Clear Global Digital campaigns and oversaw several
Digital Agency pitches in Latin America.
Based on Julie’s vision, ABC television developed the primetime special “Stress
Hurts: A Wake-up Call for Women”, which was supported at store level through displays at Wal-Mart nationwide.
Julie earned the Process Excellence Greenbelt title by completing the project “Improved Brand Media
Accountability” which enabled brands to increase both media efficiency and effectiveness.
Julie has a goal of seeing the Seven Natural Wonders of
the World and is an avid tennis player. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
Marcio M. Moreira,
Vice Chairman, McCann Worldgroup
Marcio Moreira is one
of the world’s most respected and honored global marketing and creative executives. His storied career at
McCann Erickson Worldwide and later at the parent company, McCann Worldgroup, has included top ranked posts as a Worldwide
Chief Creative Officer, Asia Pacific Regional Director, and Chief Talent Officer.
Over the years, he has led cross-border creative development on such global accounts as Coca-Cola, UPS, Nestlé,
Goodyear, General Motors, Unilever, MasterCard and Interbrew, and has won hundreds of awards, including Cannes Lions, New
York Festival, Clio, Mobius and Andy awards. For four years in the mid 1990s, in addition to his creative role, he was
Regional Director of McCann Asia-Pacific, the largest western-based ad agency system in the region.
In his most recent post, as Vice Chairman, Chief Talent Officer of McCann Worldgroup, Marcio’s responsibilities
encompassed global human resources, including recruitment,
deployment and compensation; oversight of selected global accounts and of McCann’s worldwide training and development
programs.
Marcio’s
remarkable career began as a Projectionist in McCann Brazil, which led quickly to Writer/Producer posts in London, Lisbon,
Copenhagen and Frankfurt; being named Creative Director for all of Latin America; moving to NYC to head the cutting edge InterNational
Team, then the agency's multicultural creative task-force. With the exception of a valuable stint in the entertainment business,
serving as Worldwide Marketing Coordinator for Columbia Pictures, then a Coca-Cola subsidiary, his entire career has been
with McCann.
A
wonderful raconteur, and an intensely knowledgeable internationalist, Marcio is the recipient of scores of honors. Among
his favorites are Brazil's Advertising Professional of the Year (1988), of the Decade (1990) and of the Century (2003).
He has served as a judge for every major creative festival and as Chairman of the Cannes Festival.
Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French, he has authored two books (in Portuguese); one a collection
of poetry, the other a series of short stories. He co-authored the Brazilian edition of Richard Edler’s book on
Leadership, “If Only I Knew”. He is a recorded lyricist, having collaborated with top-notch jazz and bossa-nova
composers such as Sadao Watanabe (Japan) and Cesar Camargo Mariano (Brazil).
Marcio became an American citizen in 1990.
